Fees and Insurance
I offer a free phone consultation call to new clients to explore if we will be a good fit working together. After this, my fee is $190 for a 50 minute individual therapy session.
Regarding Insurance: I am an out of network provider for most insurance plans. This means that you can often obtain reimbursement with insurance companies if your particular plan has out-of-network benefits.
Many insurance plans with out-of-network benefits will reimburse 60-90% of my fee when you submit a receipt called a superbill that I will provide to you. However, please note that not all insurance plans include out-of-network benefits, so be sure to call and check with your insurance provider about your benefits and deductible.
I accept all major credit cards, including HSA and FSA cards. HSA and FSA cards can be a great option for paying for sessions if you do not have out-of-network benefits.
Fees and Insurance FAQs
Why don’t you work with insurance companies?
Insurance companies often limit the duration and quantity of therapy sessions, encouraging brief therapy that does not get to the core of the issue. Health insurance companies also share your health information with the medical information bureau , which stores information that can be accessed when you apply to life or long-term disability insurance, potentially impacting your ability to receive coverage. Remaining an out-of-network provider allows my clients to determine what information they are comfortable with their health insurance company receiving, if they choose to submit for reimbursement.
Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots that are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. We can discuss options depending on your financial situation during the initial phone consultation.
